Borth Bowling Club
This club was established in 1999 at the opening of the new village Sports and Community Memorial Hall in Borth. The club is open to all ages and to anyone interested in playing or watching Short-Mat Bowls. No experience necessary! Four members regularly take part in the Inter-Village Competition with other representatives of our varied village sports.
The club members meet to play Bowls on Thursday evenings in the village hall at 7.00pm. There is no need to book in advance but if you would like further information or would like to talk to someone, call Freda Darby on 01970 871649.
There are bowls available for your use at the hall and the only thing you will need is a pair of indoor shoes which will not damage the mats. These could be Bowling shoes, which are absolutely flat with no heel, or a pair of flat slippers, or trainers which are not used outdoors at all. Some people just take off their shoes when they first join until they decide to invest in some of the above. You will be made very welcome, whether you come to watch and see what it is all about or whether you would like to have a go!
There are three mats for use, plenty of bowls and friendly people to help you get started. There is even a cup of tea and the occasional piece of birthday cake!
To find us go past the Lifeboat Station, to the North, about 100 yards, and take the narrow lane on your right between West End and West End Cottage, signposted Uppingham and Launderette, and go straight to the end
Don’t forget! 7.00pm Thursday's in Borth Community Hall, every week.
